Typetester now supports viewport width adjustments

September 07, 2016

Whenever you export a design to HTML and CSS, we prepare a responsive CSS snippet for you. However, you’ll now find that when viewing your design in EMS it will — by default — scale proportionally to the width of the browser window, according to the base font size specified. This is because all measures are now defined as multiples of the wrapper font-size, with the latter expressed as a viewport-width unit.

When you next export a design, simply resize the browser window and see what happens! In order to get the best results, use the slider provided to adjust the base font size to your liking.

If you wish to experiment with viewport width resizing yourself, we suggest that you take a look at our expressive web typography demo. The demo coincided with our case study on the Benton Modern brochure web site, which features numerous expressive typography ideas and techniques. Feel free to experiment with the code and resize to your hearts content.
